4 October to 30 November

Poster exhibition

Rosalie Elsass, Margot Nilsson, Werner and Yael Braun and Hugo Singer and Ilse Singer are the main characters in the exhibition that Egedal Archives and Museum and Frederikssund Local History Archives have put together on the occasion of the action against the Danish Jews in October 1943.

The exhibition tells about some of the Danish-born Jews and Jewish refugees who lived in our area in October 1943. We tell about the choices they had to make to avoid arrest and deportation. The almost 80-year-old Rosalie Elsass from Frederikssund fled to Sweden, while Margot, who had fled to Denmark in 1938, managed to stay in Denmark by entering into a marriage of convenience with a Swede.
