Rosenbaum's rescue

4. October 2023

Reading of plays for adults

Come and join us for a Danish reading of the play "Rosenbaum's rescue" with, among others, Sarah Boberg, Lars Mikkelsen and Jesper Hyldegaard. The play was a big hit with audiences and critics alike when it was performed in London.

Hanukkah, 2001. In a remote home on the Danish coast, it's time for two old friends to bury the hatchet. Lars and Abraham have not seen each other for decades, but old tensions persist as Lars's relentless pursuit of the truth about the escape of the Danish Jews during the Second World War challenges Abraham's faith, patience and memories. And when an old secret surfaces and threatens the very foundation of their relationship, things go from bad to worse.

This play examines the mystery surrounding the escape of 7.500 Danish Jews during the Second World War.

It sheds new light on politics, human destinies and philosophy and at the same time gives a new insight into the 'miracle rescue' of 98% of the Danish Jews from the Nazi war machine.
