"The flight - the story of the Goldschmidt family" - a musical story

Henrik Goldschmidt is a musician, composer and lecturer. He comes from a family that experienced fleeing from Germany to Denmark in 1937 and on to Sweden in October 1943.

Henrik's father, Ernst Goldschmidt, is still alive. He was born in 1933 in Nazi Germany and came with his two siblings and his parents to Denmark in 1937.

Ernst only vaguely remembers arriving in Denmark as a 4-year-old, but the events of October 1943, when he was 10 years old, are clearly and in detail in his memory.

In 2018, Ernst Goldschmidt's book "The Flight" was published, which is about all the miracles that were needed for many in the Goldschmidt family to survive the Nazi era. The book is about escape from Germany, about stay and liberation from concentration camps, about the help of righteous people and about the family's escape to Sweden across the Øresund on 13 October 1943.

Based on the family's history and his father's detailed account, Henrik Goldschmidt gives a lecture in Gilleleje Church, on 26 October, at 19.30 pm.

That evening, Henrik Goldschmidt will both talk and play music.
