A Stone for Eve
15/10/23
15. October 2023
Lectures
Come to a lecture with Thomas Harder & Lene Ewald Hesel and experience the lecture: A stone for Eva depicts the life and world of Eva Salomonsen, from the time she was born as Evaline Wagner in Bogense in 1855 until she died in Theresienstadt in 1943. The starting point of the book is the stumbling block , which in 2020 was placed in her memory in front of Bredgade 51 in Copenhagen, where she lived for the last 30 years of her life.
The story of Eva and her family, who came from Germany and the Netherlands and had connections to Scotland, is a common thread that connects Danish Jewish history with the wider history of Denmark, European history and the history of the Holocaust.
