The Hidden Jewish Boy - A City Walk
October 1 and 2, 2023
Walking Tour
Take part in a walk in the Aarhus district, Frederiksbjerg, where a small Jewish boy was hidden by a family. His parents fled to Sweden in October '43 and returned in the summer of 1945.
On the city walk, we hear a number of different escape stories about the Jewish families in this district. Until a few years ago, historians assumed that Aarhus had only a few Jewish inhabitants during the Gestapo's action on 1.-2. October 1943. The Occupation Museum's research has since demonstrated that the city housed at least 60 citizens with a Jewish background. It is some of their escape stories that will be the focal point of the trip at Frederiksbjerg.
