Lectures
Join us for a lecture on memorials during the Jewish Culture Festival in Copenhagen
How do we remember October 1943 and the Holocaust in public spaces like the city and digital spaces like SoMe. Memorials are an expression of the time in which they were created in the same way as the digital ones, which are often linked to a physical place, such as a memorial stone. Memorials, physical and digital, take on a much greater significance in these years, as the last witnesses disappear.
The Society for Danish Jewish History and the Danish Jewish Museum will provide an approach to the memory of the Second World War, where today the digital merges with the urban space. It creates both new opportunities and new challenges for the individual and for the collective memory. Through a conversation, we will illuminate and debate ethics and relevance in the future.
