The majority of the Jews of Denmark were able to escape Nazi persecution during the Holocaust. 7.600 Jews reached safety in unoccupied Sweden. Materials from the Swedish police and immigration authorities, published on the safe-haven.dk website, provides unique insight into the clandestine sealift operation.

Therkel Straede will present examples of the drama of OCT.'43 and discuss reasons why events in Denmark took a distinctly different road than everywhere else in German-dominated Europe.
